CANIX - European Canine Institute was
founded in 1997 by Jeanette
and Frank
Sams-Dodd and focuses exclusively on dog
behaviour and dog training. Canix has many years of
theoretical and practical experience with dog training and
this has allowed us to experiment with different training
methods and to develop a new
set of training principles for working dogs and for
which Canix has received an
award. These training
methods permit us to complete the training of a working
dog by the age of 12-14 months compared to 24-28 months
which is standard for most organisations. The training
principles can best be described as "playing with rules"
and this approach ensures that the dogs like to learn
and to work. The training program is individualised to
suit each dog's personality and to ensure a high and
consistent level of quality work through the lifetime of
the dog. The policy of Canix is to focus on quality
instead of volume and we therefore prefer to graduate
fewer, but higher-quality dogs each year. We prepare
each dog specially for the individual needs of each
person.
